30-year-old Viennese bridge is made more user-friendly with
a windshield and new roof
The
Hackinger Steg is an impressive walkway link across the canal-type
bed of the Wien river in the Austrian capital of Vienna. Built
in the 1960s, the reinforced concrete pedestrian bridge has
been roofed an fitted with a windshieldling wall on the west
side to ensure a comfortable weather-resistant crossing for
pedestrians, and also to be friendly to handicapped users.
